Emergency Medical Services
Looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? As a Volunteer EMT with Deer-Grove EMS District (DGEMS), you’ll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality emergency medical services. Our volunteers are vital members of the team, stepping up during emergencies, periods of peak workload, and when additional support is needed. You’ll gain invaluable experience, build lasting connections, and make a real impact on the lives of those we serve.
A volunteer plays a crucial role in supplementing the regular EMS workforce, responding to emergencies and assisting with daily operational duties. Volunteers operate under the guidance of the DGEMS Deputy Chief and on-duty Officer Staff and must be credentialed by the District’s Medical Director to deliver care as needed. Volunteer work may occur during periods of peak workload, employee absences, or in response to natural disasters and emergencies. Volunteers may receive a nominal fee but do not displace regular employees.
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
